Södra Folkhögskolan Helsingborg is looking for an engaged and experienced study and career counselor who is passionate about motivating and guiding young adults.

About us

Södra Folkhögskolan Helsingborg is an independent folk high school with Folkuniversitetet as the main sponsor. We work to provide people with the conditions for a richer life through knowledge and creativity.

We conduct education on our own with a focus on general courses and a study-motivating course (SMF). We also have two special courses: Special course for future entrepreneurs and Experience Worthy. Our operations are characterized by a strong value base where every individual should be seen, heard, and respected.

About the role of study and career counselor

As a study and career counselor at Södra Folkhögskolan Helsingborg, you have a central role in supporting our participants in their educational and career choices. You work closely with the participants and help them plan their future and develop their decision-making skills.

-Conduct individual counseling sessions to help participants set goals and find pathways to further studies or work.

-Plan and conduct group activities and workshops focused on study and career counseling.

-Develop and follow up on participants' study plans and eligibility goals.

-Collaborate with educators and other staff to integrate study and career counseling into teaching.

-Build and maintain networks with external actors such as folk high schools, municipalities, and labor market actors.

-Inform about the folk high school's offerings, pedagogy, and the opportunities available for participants.

-Other tasks related to the development of the organization's routines may arise.

Administrative tasks

A smaller part of the position (about 30%) includes administrative tasks in SchoolSoft, where you:

-Work with the admission of participants and registration in the system.

-Follow up and document participants' study results and attendance.

-Be responsible for study plans and eligibility certificates.

-Support the planning and follow-up of courses and education.

-Other administrative tasks may arise.

We are looking for someone who:

· Has a degree as a study and career counselor.

· Has at least three years of experience working as a career counselor, preferably at a folk high school.

· Is flexible, structured, and has good collaboration skills.

· Has knowledge of the offerings and pedagogy of folk high schools.

· Has experience in administrative work, preferably in SchoolSoft.

· Enjoys working both independently and in a team.
